The Ladies of Carrera Park Stud

Carrera Park was first formed back in 1985 as a Welsh Pony Stud in Victoria, the stud is named after my first horse a Buckskin gelding (his paddock name was Triggar).

We moved up to Qld in 1990 and I brought my Welsh mare and her foal up from Vic. She tragically had to be put down in 1996, after that Debbie got out of horses for almost 10 years, then in 2003 after buying acreage, she purchased her first Arabian, the purebred mare Carmon Rose from the now closed Tojani Stud in Warwick Qld. She went looking for a Crabbet related mare and got one in Rosie, she is 74.86% Crabbet, she is the foundation stone of my purebred breeding program.

At the time we picked Rosie up from Tojani, her sire, Arabesque Amon-Ra was standing at stud, so we dropped off a 1st x QH Palomino mare we owned, to be put in foal to Amon, we took Rosie home with us and that’s when my love affair with the Arabian breed began.

We were lucky enough as well to be able to breed to Amon before his untimely death due to colic and  our first Arabian derivative foal was born, Carrera Park IBN Amon-Ra, this gelding was conceived the day before his sire died, Rosie is the last purebred progeny from this stallion as well. We have since sold the Palomino mare, so now only have Arabian and Arabian derivative stock.

My last but certainly not least Arabian mare I have is the beautiful, Gold in The Mist, we got her from Olivia at Calga Arabians and Appaloosa Stud, Jandowae, Qld. Golden is the foundation mare of our Derivative breeding program she to is also Crabbet related carrying 43.13% Crabbet blood in her lines, she is in foal to Brahma Park Rajah (Royal Gindi x Pimpala Nabeelah), he is 93.17% Crabbet.

The foal is due late 2008 and is eagerly awaited.

We are breeding along heritage bloodlines and only really breed to keep at present, but you can be assured that anything we ever do sell, is going to be of the highest quality we can obtain.

Our stud motto is and always will be “Breeding Quality, Not Quantity”.
